GMX Tresor is an extension for the GMX MediaCenter, your free cloud storage with GMX. With this app, you can easily and quickly encrypt sensitive files before uploading them. The files are converted into unreadable strings of characters directly on your iPhone or iPad and then transferred to the MediaCenter.

GMX already guarantees the continuous SSL encryption of files during transmission, exclusive storage of files in secure German data centers, and compliance with strict data protection laws. The end-to-end encryption provided by GMX Tresor adds an additional layer of security to protect your privacy. This way, you retain full control over your most sensitive files.

The encryption process is straightforward. During app setup, you create a special password for your GMX Tresor. Based on this password, a 256-bit key is generated, which is used to transform the file name and content into unreadable strings of characters. The files can only be decrypted on your device. They remain encrypted during transmission to the MediaCenter and storage on the cloud servers, ensuring optimal protection.

GMX Tresor offers several advantages, including support for all file types (photos, documents, music, videos, etc.), encryption directly on your device (even GMX does not have access to the key), AES encryption with an unbreakable 256-bit key, and automatic encryption and transfer of files to the MediaCenter.

To start using GMX Tresor, simply install the free app, login with your existing GMX credentials, set up your Tresor password for file encryption, and add files to the app for encryption and transfer to the MediaCenter.
